This was a little slow to start but now I'm fucking LOCKED IN. I actually just got her other two books as well, one is on KU and one is $2.99. I think de Becerra might be a new fave.

How can a book have this many cool elements but still be this hard to read

Girl I am SLOGGING through this book and the most annoying part is I can't figure out why I can't get into it. It has a lot of cool pieces that can be used later on, the MC doesn't fully suck or anything, but I can not read a full page without my attention drifting. If it was bad I could say 'it's just bad' but I just can't put my finger on why this book isn't clicking.

Ugh, I think there's going to be a romance subplot in this. Which I'm not exactly against, I've just been fortunate enough to read several books in a row in which that wasn't a thing.
