Yeah so... I'm gonna need that sequel ASAP!!!
This was amazing, but idk how to function now that I'll have to wait for this duology to be completed. Really a blessing and a curse. 😔
But my god, this was so well written!! I loved it and it made me cry. (Yes, that is a good thing)

This is definitely not a young adult novel, which I'm glad for.
I'm excited to see what kind of discourse will be discussed in this book, but what I've read so far has already been amazing. Especially the discourse on otherness, politics, privilege, and selfishness vs altruism.
It asks the question of who decides who gets to live and if it's even ethical to ask such questions.

Yeah, I'm gobbling this shit up!! I'm immediately immersed.
Darker than expected, which I love.
Also some really good social/political commentary already.
Some aspects of it remind me of The Marrow Thieves. Which is a good thing, since that was a 5 ⭐ read.
I have really high hopes for this one!

I'm halfway through the first chapter and I'm loving the apocalyptic setting. It reminds me of Contagion or 28 days later (sans the zombies, but we do have cannibals!) I'm excited to see how the novel develops.
