I am enjoying this gentle paranormal romance.

"It is not dramatic. I am not a dramatic person. It is just that my eyes fill up and overflow and I make a small sound that I am going to be privately embarrassed about later, and Hex pulls me into him and wraps his arms around me and I press my face into his shoulder and let the whole carefully maintained composure go all at once."

I've had toasters like this. Not much happens in this book but it's pleasant nevertheless.
"I wake up to daylight and the smell of something burning. Not dramatically burning. Not fire and smoke and Felix on the fourteenth floor. Just the particular smell of toast that has been left slightly too long by someone who is not entirely familiar with the temperament of my toaster, which is old and erratic and hates bread."

This was not at all what I was expecting, but I loved it. I laughed a lot at x antics and may even have had the odd sniffle. I was expecting a dark romance and got a romcom instead

For some deeply inexplicable reason, Hex doesn’t seem to mind that I can be a complete prat. He doesn’t grimace when I’m being awkward. No, he isn’t reasonable like that. Every time I’m being an idiot, he finds it adorable. Endearing. As if my distinct lack of cool is an attractive quality. He really isn’t from this world.
