Of all the books to get me out of my book slump this was not the one I would’ve guessed to be successful.

i don’t blame shara at all
she’s actually been getting better overall

it’s just this fucking author and how the story is unfolding and written

doesnt do shara and house isador justice in my opinion

like i said
this could been great
this entire series
each book could’ve been great

but the writing didnt live up to it for me

my feeling rn is two stars for how poorly this was put together

the unnecessary shit taking up space
and not enough of the good shit that actually carried the story

if nothing else
this author has taught me not to follow their example

such a shit way to bring about their stories

not just the book titles and releases being inconsistent

the writing structure and lack of finesse

ugh.

i feel sweaty and off kilter

i wonder if i’ll reread this entire series before reading the next book
if and when it ever comes out

i wonder how much of this book i’ll retain by then

ESPECIALLY since this author decided to go the route of this spin off series for shara isador

i could not care LESS about the other queens
those books arent even memorable

book one was so much more memorable i think

and not just bc ive read it twice now

this book had so much shit crammed into it
mainly since the halfway point

so many diff scenes and situations

ugh
all those damn unnecessary chapters comes to mind

either get rid of them now and in the future

or spend more time on the better scenes
or make the book longer

i’m getting more pissed off the more i think about this fucking shit

i must’ve felt some type of way after the previous book on my first read of it too to rate it two stars

and damn if i don’t feel like rating this book two stars instead

and brushed over and speed run scenes of what i actually wanted and craved

more meaningful scenes

her torturing killing marne basically off screen was a waste

she’s been hyped up since day fucking one with how fucking scary and powerful she apparently is / was

but all of that is just whatever to me

my biggest grievance is with the three surviving old but new isador blood we just got back
already forgot their names

and no wonder
they got next to no screen time before the story ended there

damn it

less than fifty pages left then and this entire mess was over with IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE

rosalind whats her face and all her blood is dead
no repercussions from the goddesses

marne the bitch rome queen is very likely dead
and at the hands of a random appearance by some queen named Haides
i can’t recall if she got a short book yet

i’m pleasantly surprised with this ending

this entire last half of this book went by too fucking quick
and thats just after all that useless stuff in the first half i already ranted about

so this ending
while not a terrible cliffhanger that enrages me
was awful

in the fact that it was done and over with so quickly

^like i can obviously tell this author writing things the way they do to drag out the story in certain parts
hard to explain
it’s like
it’s obviously a ploy to create more opportunities to market and exploit this story
over and over again

it’s been tacky before
and clearly
continues to be so

sometimes it’ll seem as though things improve
mainly with the creativity
but it’s never enough

ive cried a bunch already

but i’m already past that and on to annoyance

i wish i could give this four or five stars
a true rarity

but the damn writing puts me off every time
in some type of way without fail

all this creativity and imagination

with shara sneaking in to paris with leonie

that’s what i hate most of this writing

it’s been chock full of excessive sex scenes
on top of repetitive info dumps and story summaries of this entire series so far every few chapters it felt like

now it’s finally getting good
at the end

easily the best part of this book so far
and likely the entirety of it
was the entire scene of house sunna coming to house isador for safety

all the stuff with shara and karmen
their alphas and bloods getting to know each other
mainly isador teaching sunna

adorable all of it
a shame it wasn’t long and drawn out

and even more
this is reaching the end when all this action is happening

even worse
it’s nearly halfway through this damn book and not much has happened since book one

barely been two days, if even that
since those events

over eight hundred pages between these two books
and the majority of both has been well over half of them being full of gratuitous sex scenes i could care less about

at this point
it’s lost its spark
prob since book one of the main series

thats one thing i
not forgot
but was reminded about again

this series has too much damned sex
to the point where it’s only memorable when the crazy shit goes down
like them all eating each others flesh to keep inside them forever
or the magic hair bondage stuff

otherwise
it’s yet again just more of the same
honestly
boring
sex scenes and shenanigans

i wanted deeper stuff into them all but not this

i barely recall the start of this book


it’s not even noon the next day and i already forgot most of it

it really didn’t get interesting until the rescue of leonie
although the entire time until her first pov chapter
i thought she might be that other bitch, whats her face, stealing faces and lives
may she rot in her worst hell

since then it’s been chapter after chapter of meh sex scenes

this entire series has also been good about nothing truly awful and irreparable happening

sure
a lot of heinous disgusting things
but mostly it’s all been fixable and resolved
near happily ever after
even amidst one disaster after another

i’m hoping that won’t change

the previous book had me weeping at times

and yet i feel meh right this moment
i just want more

i’m hoping there’s more and newer creativity in this book

less repeat and rinse of whats already happened in these stories so far

i really hope we get no more of weepy pathetic shara moping about as a fucking queen

i already got spoiled by the glimpse at the table of contents and the pov names
ugh

.

i want more relationship building tbh
between current blood and new ones to come

hmm
barely four hundred pages for this book

and it’s not likely to not end on yet another cliffhanger

i’m hoping more than one blood joins house isador again
more interesting blood the better

i’ll be peeved if the cliffhanger is huge

so far
this entire series and it’s books haven’t been terrible in that regard
nothing egregious that had me annoyed and frustrated for the next book
