DNF. F@#k this book. I can't t take the beatings and the resulting terror. I will never read anything else written by this author.

Unfortunately this book did not resonate with me, it's a well written book, just lacking in something that made me connect to the characters. I will read the other books, I just won't be rushing to do so.

It's official people I am cold hearted! I have no empathy or sympathy for either Cash or Sascha. The only person I feel anything for is Cash's boss, Mr Dean.

Is it ok to say this isn't enough? Cash is not intimidating enough, Sascha is not broken enough, I just don't believe in the master/slave relationship enough. I don't care enough (shrugs.) Perhaps all this will change? I hope so.....

My first try to review while reading :) It's interesting. I couldn't stop reading it till two a.m. at night. but I don't like Sascha. Which is strange because he is the kind of character (enslaved and abused) who normally would have had my immediate and passionate sympathy. But I don't feel anything much about him, mild sympathy, maybe, and dislike, too. I don't like him when he is traumatized, and I don't like him

I am so brilliantly tense... The thing about reading Alicia Cameron books is that I get so emotionally involved I forget put them down to do things like work, walk the dog, meet friends...

"I didn't want to see his face," I mutter, feeling ridiculous for making an excuse.
"Our associates make punishment hoods for a reason," she comments...

"Cash, I hear you're getting involved with a lot of the re-education center accounts," my mother says, glaring at me.
I look up at her, fighting for calm. "I've recently been promoted," I inform her. "Or did your best friend Bethany not tell you that?"

"Quit that passive-aggressive bullshit," he snaps, and it takes me a minute to understand what he's talking about. "I know as well as you do that you aren't some mindless slave, and you've been terrible at pretending it from the first moment I met you at the brothel."
