As we walk down the hall, I can feel her frowns getting larger. Sascha's door is closed, as it always is, and it's in violation of the Miller System training that demands that slaves not have any privacy. I can feel her judging me and my slave.
"I didn't want to see his face," I mutter, feeling ridiculous for making an excuse.
"Our associates make punishment hoods for a reason," she comments...

"Cash, I hear you're getting involved with a lot of the re-education center accounts," my mother says, glaring at me.
I look up at her, fighting for calm. "I've recently been promoted," I inform her. "Or did your best friend Bethany not tell you that?"

"Quit that passive-aggressive bullshit," he snaps, and it takes me a minute to understand what he's talking about. "I know as well as you do that you aren't some mindless slave, and you've been terrible at pretending it from the first moment I met you at the brothel."

"Go to bed," I order, dismissing him. I turn and leave, suddenly uncomfortable. I beat him this morning; that was easy. He deserved it. I had warned him, all the pieces were in place. I've been trained for years to deal with slaves in that manner. But tonight, I wanted to protect him, to find out what he really wanted and hoped for.

"It was unfortunate that you couldn't continue the family business," she comments, ignoring the fact that I have yet to respond to her last statement.
"You had me arrested for continuing in the family business," I remind her.

He hesitates in the doorway. "Start eating and drop the attitude," he mutters, facing away from me.
Nothing like getting back to business, after all.

It makes me smile to think of Sascha and his adventures on his tablet; trouble finds both of us. I only hope that I complete my project this time.

Leaving Sascha with my boss is surprisingly difficult. I spend the night vacillating between feeling guilty and feeling ridiculous. He's a sex slave. He's had plenty of experience being used for sex, plenty who have hurt him. I know Mr.Dean will treat him well, but it's hard to get the look Sascha gave me out of my mind.

Her voice was barely above a whisper, and I had to stop crying to hear it. "Listen there are worse things than brothel work - they don't tell any of you, but there is a blacklist for slaves who can't conform, and it was all I could do to get your name off it. The blacklist is where they get human subjects or experiments, or organ transplants, or other terrible things, and I just...you're far too capable to go there.
