🤦🏼‍♀️ why do I insist on reading some stuff.... I couldn't accelerate the audiobook any faster and I still didn't manage to get past 31% Will try once again to continue reading it... But will probably end dropping it.

Spoilery rant. Plus the whole 'daddy' thing between Damien & Diane is just weird. With only 5 years between them and them having met at 16/11 why would she call him Daddy. Why not call him by his name? It would be different if she had been a total when they met. Plus I find it hard to believe the authorities would agree to the adoption.

I don't think I can read anymore and it's not for the reason everyone else hated this book. I'm not enjoying it at all, I don't really like either character (but at this point it is actually Jake I'm having the most issues with). And honestly nothing is happening. They drink coffee, they eat steak, they talk but don't really say anything or listen to each other. I'm bored.

I think I'm more confused about Jake's sexual its than he seems to be himself.

“What was all that about? Kissing me in public?” Jake still couldn’t believe Damien had done it after what he had told Damien about life and gossip and microscopes in a small town. It was almost like Damien was deliberately pushing his buttons.

And why does a father thank a guy for not taking sexual advantage of his daughter the night she broke up with her bf?

And promptly assume that means the guy must be gay?

And the father who assumes that is gay himself, btw.

There's this scene in Blue Is The Warmest Color where a bunch of people sit in the garden and eat spaghetti for like twenty minutes going on sixty hours and all they do is carry on pointless small talk.

Ace up till now makes that scene look like an ep of House Of Cards.

Do authors realize that people decide whether to buy a book based on the sample of the first chapter? Seems like Jack Byrne doesn't give a flip

Ok. So, I'm pretty sure the author isn't going to screw up the sexual aspect of the relationship. (Wait for it.) BUT it's only been two weeks. A fortnight! How can you have a typical weekend in just two weeks? That's what we call an accident. Not the norm.

If the blurb hadn't identified one of the main characters as asexual I would be excited about where this book is going. However, knowing what I do about asexuality I'm sensing a huge misrepresentation coming. I hope I'm wrong.

Hmm, this is a new one for me.

Okay after reading the authors blog that jake doesnt know he is ace this makes so much more sense and I can stop being an angry bear

This is not a clear explanation of asexuality in any form its a runaround that makes no sense
