Status Updates From Unravelled in New York

Jack is a cross between Mr Darcey (from Pride & Prejudice) and Mr Big (from Sex And The City)

Doesn't it feel like Jane Austen was the only original and everyone else just modeled their characters after Elizabeth and Mr Darcey? I'm so frustrated I was to tear the pages out of this book.

I'm reading this as part of a monthly genre book challenge and so far I'm not impressed. The first few chapters seemed forced, like the author was rushing to catch us up on the back story. The first person narrative isn't working yet.
