Status Updates From Little Herr Friedemann and ...

I’ve read four of the stories so far. If you’re thinking of reading this book I’d suggest reading Buddenbrooks first. I know it’s a big ask but this seems like a follow-on to me. Many of the settings are taken from Buddenbrooks. Some of the characters seem like mirror opposite characters from that book, others seem like unexplored aberrations. Maybe it’s just Mann’s writing pulling me back. Powerfully.
