Status Updates From Twist of Fate

:( another brand new book that's bugging me as I read. The sentences are very short, lextile level has gone down. All the conversations has become single sentences where it reads like characters are consistently snapping at each other instead of bantering or conversing. Why is this happening? Is this a trend in what readers are wanting because of the influence of AI and the decline in reading abilty?
