Ch 4 and Sasha is at Leyla and Mason’s for dinner. We get an extended cameo of the couple with the ch ending with them having Amal sex. I feel like it’s completely unnecessary bc they already had their HEA. The convo be them talking about how M feels thinking it could be his wife and child was good but the sex was gratuitous.

Opening w a school shooting - given the sad reality of guns in the US and the outrageous number of shootings, this could’ve done with a trigger warning - no pun intended

Opening chapter was intense! Like an episode of ER with medical jargon.

It's fine, but the fact that this has a school shooting as the catalyst is...not what I want from a romance, particularly a novella. I miss the fluffy cuteness of the first book. This one's quieter and sadder, which isn't what I want.

I should find this exchange cheesy, but it's kind of cute, tbh.
