I'd never expected such valor from an author as Mr. Davis is showing! It's extremely risky to "sail" even close to realm of metaphysics when navigate with a scientific document. But, Davis is doing brilliantly permanently confronting the Aristotelian teleological, holistic view with the Greek atomists,such as Democritus,who taught that the world is nothing but atoms moving in a void.
