Status Updates From 1984

Aún me cuesta comprender cómo Orwell pudo imaginar todo eso a finales de los 40, cuando muchas de las tecnologías que describe ni siquiera existían. Lo más impresionante es lo vigente que sigue siendo su visión: la vigilancia, el control y nuestra dependencia de la tecnología se parece muchísimo al mundo actual. Es increíble que una obra tan antigua siga siendo tan actual. Espero con ansias terminar el libro.

Quite odd that I find similarities between Winston and Dr. Glas (Hjalmar Söderberg). The way he thinks, his diary, his perception on women, his solitude, his dreams. Even Orwell's writing style. I wonder if this book has themes of morality or even a psychological aspect. I was fascinated by the depth of Glas's character, and it's just an uncanny resemblance I found between him and Winston.
