Ok, then, so far: you must be an illiterate if you understand that Barash is justifying polygamy, plus you clearly don't have an aptitude for essays.

"It is particularly likely to arouse the ire of those who argue that essentially all male–female differences, except for the basic plumbing, are socially rather than biologically founded"

Engels: ‘Thus when monogamous marriage first makes its appearance in history, it is not as the reconciliation of man and woman, still less as the higher form of such reconciliation. Quite the contrary. Monogamous marriage comes on the scene as the subjugation of the one sex by the other; it announces a struggle between the sexes unknown throughout the prehistorical period.’ (Engels was a lifelong bachelor…)

Finished with Polygamy 101. No matter my personal stance on this, Mr. Barash is clearly very educated on these things, and I appreciate that. Many "experts" are not that at all regardless of their line of work and research. Mr. Barash definitely stands out as a true expert in evolutionary biology.

A reviewer says that a lot of slang is used here, and it ruined the book for them. That worries me, but we'll see.
