Status Updates From Uncanny X-Men (1963-2011) A...

This early annual features Nightcrawler and his supposed origin that was retconned much later. Nightcrawler was "killed". The X-Men and Dr. Strange journey to "Inferno" to rescue him.

Note: The main storyline not only had all three gypsies (Kurt apparently doesn't count) as sorcerers with the two women being the most powerful and I guess we can be lucky that at this time the makers forgot or ignored Kurt's more bestial origins from 5 years prior because that would have even worse implications... so many stereotypes so little time.

That was a quick ending.
Also Dr. Strange referred to the entire Szardos family as sorcerers... that makes Kurt's lack of magical ability even weirder. Not to mention that the black-haired son is evil and the blond-haired daughter is good. Colorism much?

Jemaine calls her brother sexy, and we learn she posed as his girlfriend Amanda Sefton the whole time... I know they are not biological related but this is still creepy.
Plus, based on what I know she will be referred to as Amanda Sefton later on... yeah, just americanize her, that is such a proud tradition.

Ok, not only does Stefan have some "draw to the dark side" but he is also a sorcerer? Wow is this stereotypical.
And if he and Kurt are brothers, why doesn't Kurt have magic also? In fact why does he refer to his mothers as Margali?
And if she is so powerful why didn't she sense what was going on with her sons?

Btw. If he was only an hour old when he was found and his family name is Szardos, why is he called Kurt Wagner?

Well considered that this was published 5 years after Nightcrawler's introduction I think it's safe to assume that this is the first time this background of him being raised by a "gypsy witch-queen" was shown. And boy is this bad. The caravans look so old they have wooden wheels and the clothes they are wearing are definitely not realistic in any way. And the whole thing with Stefan sounds ... stereotypical.

Transformed beyond recognition? Storm only looks as if she aged 50 years but that is it.

So by this logic here Storm deserves to be down there because she stole as a street urchin? Wow, Dante was really a dick (the whole Comic is based on his description of Hell).

AAnd btw. the ever nice Kurt Wagner just stated that Hell is ok because there is heaven and that everyone who is in hell deserves eternal damnation... considered the double Standard shown in the Bible, I doubt that. And least Wolverine calls him out on the fact that they lost Storm there and what his comments mean.
Never thought I would agree with Wolverine...

So in this 8th circle of hell there are all These People whose lives were rules by Fraud? Somehow I doubt the biblical patriarchs like Abraham and Jacob would be in it, because they commited god-sanctioned fraud.

Wow, that Cerberus Looks nothing like a dog, and yes the Comic calls it a dog. That Thing is a giant blue, three headed Lion with manes out of tendrils and a "lizard" tail.

So because These People "subjected reason and intellect to carnal desire" they have to suffer in those hellish winds for eternity? Wow, that System sucks.

Those expository dialogues are just lame.

Plus: It is spelled "Willkommen" and not "Wilkommen"

The Professor uses his own telepathy to Augment his own strength? How? And why did I read of that here for the first time?

Why do they suddenly use their codenames when they used the normal names before? So the Readers know? The Team existed for 5 years at the time of the Publishing so why bother?

Claremont him? So this is the guy who especially inserted German phrases into Nightcrawler's speeches for authenticity??? Let's see how that goes...
