Status Updates From Des mensonges dans nos têtes

My book is showing perspectives on both sides of this story. We are following a black girl who is among the first to come to the "whites-only" school. The story follows a white girl who goes to the whites-only school. They do get along together, and the story goes deeper into how the white children were raised by their parents. I think this is very interesting to see both POV in a time when only one is focused on.

I like how they include elements of the red scare I this. I never correlated that the civil rights movement and red scare happen at the same time.

Lots of thoughts. No words.

Thank you for reminding me of the song Beauty School Dropout from Grease

I have never thought about how violent inside the school would be. In photographs and clips, we only see protest outside of the schools, but the protests continued in the school building.
