On page 40, Ciara said, "We both hit home runs!" The two then high-fived. "Yessss!" Sharlee cried. "We already won our first two games, and we're never gonna lose, ever!" This shows how cheerful Sharlee is.

One trait to describe Derek is annoyed because on page 22, Derek´s dad and him were talking about Gary and was wondering why he is even on his team. On page 24, Derek says ¨You don´t know Gary,¨ he said miserably. ¨Gary? Isn´t he your friend from school?¨ Friend? More like worst enemy.¨
This shows how annoyed Derek is with Gary.

One trait to describe Derek is appreciative because on the first page, Derek found out the news that his dad was going to coach his baseball team and he was extremely excited. "I can't believe it. My dream is finally coming true!" Derek said. "Thanks for doing this, Dad. I know how busy you are, but I am reeeeally happy you're coaching our team." This shows how appreciative and grateful Derek is.
