I gave up after FMC nearly died saving mmc that winter which caused the loss of cattle. Mmc was already struggling financially but was now finally going to lose the farm. FMC uses her trust fund to pay off the farm and when she tells him he loses his shit. He belittles her and then demands she stay there till she has the baby to then get divorced. Mind you he just found out she was preggo a day ago.

It’s sounds miserable there, boring and don’t get me started on the winters. FMC was so good to mmc and he didn’t deserve her. I couldn’t figure out why she fell for him he was rude, moody and always yelling at her. She helped him on the ranch, cooked cleaned for him. And then even had sex with him when he barely deserved it. This book was a feminists nightmare. If these the husbands throw the whole man away

This book was torture. I really tried to give it a go because I really needed a mail order bride fix but mmc was the worst. His only redeemable quality was that he was attractive and considering I’m just taking FMCs word for it I’m not even really sure I believe that at this point. This was written in the 90s but man this made me never want to step foot in Montana.
