When the twins were with Beth and Maud, the ladies titles were reversed and you didn't know whether to follow the titles, the names, or the references to understand the story. It was very confusing. I tried to follow names most of the time, but then they would refer to Beth as "the companion".

I'm finding the behavior of a number of key characters to be more than mildly irritating. I hope they redeem themselves quickly.
