This is very, very enjoyable. It is like a fantastic movie that is fun and mysterious at the same time, or spending time with highly likeable friends on an adventure that feels like it could last forever.

Wow! I always consider Phyllis A. Whitney very good and know full well, that her youth mysteries are especially magical enthralling. I believe this is a sparsely-known fact from the rarity of these novels today. It is very fortunate to obtain them. Nonetheless, I find myself astonished (to quote her frequently used word) to be enjoying myself with this novel as much as I am. What a great pleasure this story is!

An enthralling sojourn from stem to stern. Mysterious and adventurous all at once.

What a sweet little mystery! The title gives the impression that the mystery is focused on the supernatural, but I found it was even better- the mystery was focused on history. The adventures the children had were fun to join; the main protagonist reminded me of myself when I was younger.

I will always have a soft spot in my heart for young adult books. This is a perfect example of why. The main characters are endearing and honest. The plot is simple and entertaining. I love the sense of innocent mystery. I see my young self in the protagonist, with her love of books and ability to use her imagination to become someone else who is somewhere else.
