Status Updates From Locked Inside

What a wonderful story about physical limitations not preventing love between 2 lesbians .

I can't believe I'm doing this, but I'm moving this to the Did Not Finish shelf at 81% (for spoiler reasons). My cold, bitter, critical heart just can't deal with this nonsense.

I think this would've worked better as a novella. The "I'm in love with you but I can't tell you" dance is just being stretched unbelievably thin. Three words could've ended this book at page 60. Or page 80. Or page 100. Or page 120. Locked-in syndrome hasn't played much of a role in the story past the first third. It's just a traditional poor-communication romance at this point.

My brilliant partner got my laptop and phone set up with TTS, so this is happening. I like the premise of this book, but the writing itself has been iffy. Some cultural stereotypes, lots of contrivances. Basically, 100+ pages so far of the leads not communicating their feelings. Round and round in circles. Frustrating.
