OK Logan what you said to Susanna there was pretty smooth I’m not gonna lie. It was sweet.

Collin is still being nefarious even 12 pages from the end?!?! Why ?!?? There better not be some random redemption coming up or I’m going to be pissed.

I’m really unsure about what is motivating Colin to want to keep Timothy but get rid of Susanna. I mean he’s willing to disinherit his only remaining son to get rid of her. Throw away three centuries worth of family history and property just so she would disappear. She’s not that big of a problem.

Ummm is someone a newbie here?!?!?!???

That’s how I know I’m so jaded. It’s been a long time since I’ve read such a light romance novel. Or maybe newer romance novels have more experienced or more sexually adventurous main characters now as oppose to these old school reads.

It’s interesting how things have changed.

I appreciate that Susanna didn’t wilt under pressure here. I can very easily see how any other heroine would’ve just swooned as soon as the male protagonist came into the picture however she held her own which I was impressed with.

Second kiss which is a bit more intense. Super mild though overall.

Ok we also got a kiss. Well well well. I honestly though we weren’t going to get anything so I’ll take whatever we can get.

I was mentioning to my friends about how I found the pace of this book a lot slower than I remember. With less than 75 pages left I’m trying to figure out how this book is going to wrap up.

I’m glad that Suzanna is ashamed of how judgemental she is of the nanny’s looks. It’s not part of her job description to be attractive. I hate girl hate. We need to empower each other and not tear each other down.

I hate the name of this property that Logan and Harris grew up on. Mattashaum is a horrible name.

Logan picked up the frame, and even from a distance, she saw his shirt quiver with his in drawn breath.

“Who are you, Logan Bradford? She wondered. And why do you keep doing things that make it so hard for me to dislike you?”

Umm her response is a bit much for such a small action. I forgot how over the top old school Harlequin romances use to be 😂.

The one thing I had forgotten over the years was how Susanna and Timmy had come to live with Logan for a while. It was great figuring it out and now I need interested to see how things progress. It was one of the aspects of this book that I remember loving so much when I was younger.

Oh man 🤦🏾‍♀️ . Collin, which is Logan and Harris’ dad, is a complete misogynistic asshole.

I’m still trying to get a feel for Logan cause he is coming off a little double sided if you know what I mean. Like he has the pompous ass front facing person but internally he is a bit more introspective and possibly empathetic. I don’t know but we will see how this plays out.

Damn Logan is really harsh right here with Susanna. Like he is not holding back that he think she’s a gold digger.

Well I’m back at it again. Trying to give this another go so wish me luck. Suzanna’s sister, Claudia, didn’t have a will drawn up and therefore nothing to name her the legal guardian of Timmy.

That’s dumb.

Get a will done especially after you have children.

I wish the author would have done a proper page break to indicate a flash back. She immediately goes into the flashback knowing that our main character is going to be meeting the male main character in just a few minutes but not disassociating that the events she’s describing are from the past versus the interaction she’s just about to have.

This is my first ever romance novel and I am going to be re reading it for the first time in over 20 years. Should be fun.

Skimming a lot of this because it's idiotic. They're monsters, and she's playing into them. I can get her being relieved that Timmy isn't going to be completely psychologically screwed by this, but gratitude? Because Logan is super attractive he isn't what he is now? She's forgotten that if everything is well she'll lose custody period. It's so dumb. And to think he deserves any sympathy regarding Harris? So stupid.
