Audience and Purpose: The purpose of the book is to tell a story of a grl and life in the family. The audience is anyone past the age of 12 because it is easy to digest but kids wont understand. The book is all about how a girl finds love and the story behind a family and the hardships they go through.

I read a story about an 8 year old girl that has to care for her sick mother and young brother. It was pretty sad and it was kind of hard to relate to.
I'm now in the middle of a story about a high school girl going on a date with her crush and it's really cute. Myers has a good way of describing characteristics.

This book was really good. I liked how each chapter was a different story and a new main idea. I would recommend this book to people who like mysteries, and like new things every chapter.

The part where I stopped was when Ms. Baker and her boyfriend are poor and right now they are having a baby. The court and government will not give any money to them for the baby to survive.

This book has short stories about different subjects. One of the stories that I had read so far was about a dad that had cancer, and when he died he told his two daughters and wife to make a hair salon so the kids can get a little help for money when they move to college.

“The elevator was slow and predictably foul-smelling, as if to warn anyone coming into the building not to expect too much” (95). The word choice the author uses is descriptive, and also sets the mood perfectly.
