Okay....so far jalan cerita gak slow sedikit. Mungkin sebab Flora sedang mencari identiti dia kot. Tapi dalam masa yang sama, menarik jugak bila lagenda Mahsuri, nabi-nabi dan mitos Yunani diterapkan dalam satu naskah, dan unsur islamik. Clearly ni bukan typical fiksyen punya.

My favourite kind of plot twist is when the storyteller foreshadows or builds it up before revealing it and this author did just that.

Hurts to read yet another repetitive revelation but it's fun to see Datin Kay's character written in a way that she's still apathetic towards her test subject's welfare despite being in captive lol. All she cares about is her unethical lifetime work.

Perks. Love the further exploration of consequentialism and eugenics. I think it's very bold of the author to include these themes, so kudos to him.

The creation of subject 4791 and her clones are questionable from a scientific standpoint, but then again this is a minor nitpick considering that this book is also published under the fantasy genre.

Prof Joned is such a poorly written character smh. You can't be an expert and be that naive at the same time. He should know what he signed up for, and to include his bad history with unethical research? This feels way more out of place. This character is unneeded in this story, he's just a tool to unveil the mystery to the readers and nothing else 😪

I'd like to think that the evil twin is furious that humans are playing God. While Flora has that humanity in her because there's more to her relationship with Prof Ned.

Okay now that I have built this expectation, the story better head towards this.

The way this revelation is written is so poor and inorganic. Again, the character contradicts himself. Kalau betul dia utamakan soal etika dalam R&D, he wouldn't take on the job with no questions asked. I know most readers are not familiar with the field, but come on. Don't dumb them down like this.

One bit of this revelation is excellent though, really connects and 'justifies' evil Flora's vengeance.

Lagi satu, tema dan konsep cerita ni sebenarnya dah bagus. I like how it explores on ethics and humanity. Tapi itulah sayangnya dekat writing style.

Why do they sound like they keep contradicting themselves? Ugh these dialogues are bland, the personalities are bland...

The only thing that keeps me engaged is the mystery. And the revelation better not be predictable!!!

Sakitnya baca shitty and repetitive dialogues omg this book could've been a hundred pages less!

This Tracker character is BS

I sure hope this book doesn't disappoint me. But it already took a whole chapter just to describe a scene. Not a good sign 😪

Mak aih. Plot twist bertindih-tindih! Haha. Ok, kena dapatkan sambungannya. Tak sangka penulis (Amir Husaini a.k.a. Dr Shaikh), sangat kreatif orangnya, walaupun dalam kelas macam skema.kahkah!
