A Reason To Breathe is one of my all time favorite books. I’ve read it multiple times and will continue to read it. It’s hard to believe the same author wrote this book. I can’t stand Calla and don’t like Devin. I’m nearly finished this book but I have too many other things to read to subject myself to something I’m not enjoying.

I thought the beginning of this book was narrated by A.I. voice. After half way point either I got used to it OR it switched up as it is a bit better.

Meanwhile a hunky former cop, now P.I. rents the unit next door from her aunt. Well he looks the part of the devil.

Calla however is a reclusive book editor and hides in books, afraid to get attached and lose someone else. She lives in historical romance and is so sad they just don't make men like that in real life. Her favorite book is Devil's Bride and she just wants a man like Devil Cynster.

Southern small town story with Calla (short for Calla Lily) who lost her brother and parents and has been raised by two single free thinking aunts. These aunts' were loose and free but buckled down to running their shop full time when they became guardian of Calla - much to the dismay of her grandparents. They are old money, old pure Savannah bloodlines and would gladly marry her off to another old family.
