Ehhh. I liked the reverse roles at the end. Where Mc is the one doing the saving of herself and needing to be talked down. But. Nothing really happened. And it was all kinda ehh. Like the author had opportunities to push the characters and give us emotional depth. But it was really just sex. Mad. Sex. Love. Sex. Love. Etc. 3.5 stars rounded down.

Bro. Lucifer said. Don’t kill any child. Carla has harmed like all of her children. Isn’t that grounds for imprisonment or punishment or something.

Ngl. They both needed that fight. It’s obviously they love each other to insanity. Knox is stifling Mc and Mc is trying to make her self small to take it and it’s not healthy for either.

I was right! There’s more behind the Crow’s Mess. They call themselves the Four Horsemen. We don’t know who they are, only that they want to wipe out the U.S. Primes and take all the power. My main suspects are Bray (the husband), Alethae, and Harper’s dad. I still think there’s more to Harper than anyone realizes, but I doubt we’ll uncover it in this book.

I agree with Harper that someone planted this wild theory in the doctor’s mind about a child destined to destroy them all. Still, part of me wonders if this “child of hellfire” could actually be real. There’s something about Harper’s powers—and those wings—that makes me think she might be more than just a sphinx. Maybe it’s just me… or maybe not.

I'm having so much fun reading this book. It is by far one of my favorite short reads. It is funny and full of so many quippy lines. Love the family dynamic and love the reassuring language that couples us towards one another. Plus, I seriously need Levi as a life coach because he has the best advice!
