It has all the right elements, but just something about it is not vibing it. I’m not feeling what I was expecting to go in. I wish there was more delayed gratification and more longing, instead of them getting together what I deemed too soon and then having a break up due to circumstances. Now they are both miserable. That just wasn’t the journey I was expecting to go on.

The baseball fan in me likes all the baseball references. Something is missing for me for the romance though. I’m not quite connected here like I thought I would be with the unrequited love of the brother’s best friend. I think too much is focused on the physical and not enough emotional. It just seemed rather fast when the slept together. I wanted that drawn out a bit more. More of a steady build.

I liked this is a brother’s best friend, road trip, forced proximity, and one hotel trope. I like Caitlyn has had a crush on Eli for awhile. Eli has more awareness of her as a woman. What I don’t like is how quickly things are happening between them. Where’s the tension, the angst, and the build up? I feel like it’s rushing a bit. I want more of a steady build.
