I'm having an incredibly hard time with this book. Not only is the writing sometimes clichéd to the point of silliness, but Xanthier is one of the most unlikable leads I've ever read in a romance novel. He's twice her age at 30 to her 16, and he is so overbearing it makes me furious. He is basically kidnapping her and her horse, because of some stupid sense of commitment. It's misogyny dressed up as romance.
