This is not a particularly well-selected sample of Gandhi's writing. It's too repetitive, and not chronological enough.

Gandhi doesn't completely avoid going into detail about how exactly his philosophies will shake off British colonial rule, but I'd need more detail in this to really get behind them as a maxim.

I really, really wish I bought into how Gahdhi wants to change the world. But it's just too... eat-your-cake-and-have-it-too-y. I just don't get how he plans on changing the minds of people who make their livings off colonialism and exploitation - he doesn't seem to have any understanding of why people colonize and continue the system of colonization.

While I have a lot of admiration for Gandhi's dedication to his positions, I think I'm a bit at odds with him, because I hold the radical leftist belief that colonizers are actually really shitty people who poison any community that they're invited into. Like, the idea that people should change of their own volition is nice, but that's a long-term process, and people need protection in the short-term.

An individual's success will be like a millionaire doling free food to millions of starving people. We should, therefore, bend our energies to a fulfillment of the thirteenfold constructive programme. It may or may not bring swaraj, but we shall surely have the satisfaction of having done our best.

By good food I do not mean that they will eat sweets//I know I am talking tall because the poor today do not even know what fruit is. During the mango season, they get a few mangoes and during the guava season they get a few guavas//I wish everyone gets what they call a balanced diet as also a clean and comfortable house. This according to me is real freedom.

I may be taunted with the retort that this is all Utopian and, therefore, not worth a single thought. If Euclid's point, though incapable of being drawn by human agency, has an imperishable value, my picture has its own for mankind to live. Let India live for this true picture, though never realizable in its completeness. We must have a proper picture of what we want, before we can have something approaching it.
