Status Updates From Knowing the Living God

“The fact that we have an Advocate before the Father should not make us apathetic about holiness or careless about sin. On the contrary, it should motivate us to obedience because of the great work the Son has accomplished for us.”

Reminds me of Romans 6 “Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still liv in it?”

Christ acts as the Advocate for His people. Christ's continuous intercession for His people does not mean that He is on His knees before the throne of God beg ging for mercy on our behalf. Rather, He intercedes as One seated at the right hand of God, as One who is omniscient and knows every need of His people, as One who has all authority to speak on their behalf, and as One who annuls every accusation against them.

“As Lawgiver and Judge, God is both holy and righteous.“ “These attributes guarantee that God's law will always be appropriate or right and that His judgments will always be perfect.” “On the day of His judgment, all men can be assured that God will judge them with perfect justice. Even the condemned will bow their heads and declare that the Judge of all the earth has judged them righteously.”

A closer look at the character of God is always what my heart needs. No matter what circumstances I’m in, no matter what guidance I’m looking for, knowing who God is is the peace and satisfaction of my soul.
