“I wanted to say something to let him know I liked him, that I wanted him, but instead I licked my lower lip and watched Levi’s pupils expand blackly in the orange fizz of the streetlight.”
His pupils expanded blackly? 🤔

I have NEVER felt such joy over the word "boludo" before. Especially because, even though it IS meant to be a "bad" word, we use it so often that it became as shocking as "cuchara" (that's "spoon"). But yeah. Great use of one of my favorite words. Man, I had really forgotten how much I liked it...

I'm not sure "cabrón" is something that flows so naturally amongst our people here in Argentina...
Sure, there are some people who use it (although some use it ironically) but it's not exactly common. As substitute, I can think of (for this particular context) "forro", "imbécil" or maybe even "pelotudo" (the last one being the least accurate, but that could equally work).
I'M SORRY I DON'T MEAN TO BE ANNOYING.
