It dawned on me that the actual book (what I'm reading) has very different pagination than the kindle edition. The book only has 486 pages.

Ah, yes: poor Mary Tudor. I have a soft spot for her, as I think she has been horribly misunderstood (this doesn't mean I condone what happened during her reign). It seems to me she was always following the wrong advice with a stubbornness that blinded her to what was going on around her... kinda like me for about 12 years.

I take it Chibi (the author of the book) has little to no use for Bucer: twice he's used "pithy" to describe some of Bucer's expressions.

I'm fast-forwarding past the Anabaptists section in the Zwingli chapter because they are not immediately relevant to my particular cause. "Second-Generation Reformers" will be good to read; then the Tudor Ecclesiology... both to be read by the end of Wednesday.

Finally... someone has explained Zwingli to me in such a way that makes him less radical or extreme. Sure, he and Luther were opposed to each other by the end, but to explain how Zwingli got to his conclusion is very helpful.

This is becoming a better read than I thought it would be. I think I know what book I would have my own students read... if I ever get that far.
