Status Updates From Final Cut (Kate & Jay, #4)

Still slowly working through this book as I buy and finish others. It's not that I hate it or that it really bores me....it's just....yeah, ok, it really does kinda bore me. Not really buying the government is after them thriller, and I'm just missing the thrill of when will the women hook up vs. oh yeah we still love each other after a billion years together.

Still listening occasionally, then setting it aside while I pick up another. I'm trying to think of this as a thriller not a romance....after all, the four characters are already two married couples. Kate's voice and demeanor make her sound 70ish, whereas Jay sounds and acts much younger. - in her 20s perhaps, though both are probably in their 50's. Just not getting into it, I guess.

I'm going to pause this. I liked "All That Lies Within", but this is my first Kate & Jay book. Though the story may be a standalone, I realize I'm disappointed knowing there is no romance to develop. Since I don't know Kate & Jay (who are now in their 50's+), I don't feel any connection with them to enjoy knowing they've enjoyed three decades together.

For now, "meet the girl" storylines are more appealing to me.
