I’m heartbroken. Justine Sebastian should be ashamed. I’m all snuggled in on a rainy Saturday with the fireplace crackling & Hubby told to fend for himself but instead of chills & goosebumps from ghosts & things that go bump I’m crying from loss. I’ve been sideswiped!!

This book is going to use up all my tears.

I think I'm stopping for the night. My eyes are swollen and my nose is all stuffed up. Until tomorrow creepy, crazy Sparrow Falls. Place I never wish to even drive through. Who knows what could happen... 😒 I'm actually kinda mad 😠

This book is disturbing but I'm afraid I'm sucked in. I feel bad for "Mooncricket". He needs rehab and good therapy, IMO.

Ok, so Jeremy may be more nuts than the nut in the last book. Dude is scary.

“See, I remember now, Tobias and you need to remember, too. I can see much better from where I’m at now and if you don’t remember, bad, bad things are going to happen.”

“What do people do?” he asked the heavy summer air. “They drink. A lot,” Tobias answered himself. “That’s what they do. Or they go to therapy, but I don’t think that would work out too well for me. I’d scare my therapist.”

The silence of the crows was eerie; they were noisy, raucous animals, rarely quiet especially when gathered together as they were. Crows talked back and forth with one another, speaking their black crow tongue and scolding anyone or anything that got too near their territory. The crows gathered in the trees were silent, the gleam of their eyes glittering like jewels from the shadows of the tree limbs they rested on.

Jeremy sat at a stop sign watching a fat woman and what he felt qualified as a herd of small children cross the road. He was transfixed by the jiggle of her flabby ass cheeks which were barely concealed by the cut off legs of her short-shorts. Fat hung in rolls from the sides of her bandanna top. Her hair was greasy bleach-blond. There was only one word for what he was looking at and that word was Classy.

He was dimly aware that he should never have been able to open the door so easily, but people did impossible things all the time.

That was what really filled the spaces when the art drained out of him and he had spent his life trying to find ways to breech the flood of memories, names, birthdays. One of those ways, it seemed, was hitting Mooncricket who was sweet and still innocent in a strange way for a boy who had spent so much time with a needle in his arm and homelessness one lost friend away.

Right when I thought he wasn’t going to do anything freaky after all, he just leans over the partition thing and takes in all of Little Hylas. I mean, he was staring at it like a cat looks at a mouse—a really big mouse, of course, just fucking huge. Biggest mouse ever. Just saying. So he’s staring at my monster mouse...

“Between Hylas’s understandable fascination with the local psychopathic serial killer and Wes out there digging up all the other skeletons in this town, we’re going to have a library of fucked up shit to read about on the subject of Sparrow Falls,”
