The need to binge comes from the desire to overcome stress. The inability to stop bingeing/eating arises because the eating is not meeting/helping you deal with that stress at all. Instead, finding the root cause eg boredom, work stress, and stepping away to address that in a helpful way, would be better in all aspects.

We fear not eating healthy and therefore attempt to gain control and freedom by following strict dietary rules, which inversely traps us from experiencing freedom in all other aspects of our lives - eating well = success in all areas, eg social interactions, girlfriend etc, which you have seen does not work. The less stress - in life, training etc - the better your recovery! Some stress cannot be avoided, and some stress is good (eg a job where you help people), and some stress serves you -- so why engage in stressful activities eg calorie tracking obsessively, ir checking or abs every 5 mins, when these habits will prevent you from enjoying and maximising results from the healthy habits you enjoy!?
