This book is more serious and slow that I am used too. It is mainly focused on the internal struggles of the main character. While there was a murder she is supposed to be figuring out, I am 30% in and no progress has been made which is killing me but I will keep reading 🥲🤣

A very satisfying read and a great start to a new series. This is a book that deserves to be much more widely known.

This just keeps getting better and better: a strong main character, an unromanticized view of anger and guilt and violence, an interesting police puzzle, and a clear sense of place. Good start to a new series.
