Oh, nice "check your privilege" moment there in recognizing how a white person rarely expects to be treated with animosity, suspicion or derision when doing something as innocuous as shopping for groceries.

This storyline rankles my very being. My Native American ancestors are probably rolling their eyes. The story addresses the history of white men wrongly taking the land of the Native Americans as well as another white man offering hope only to molest children. Yet, it's a... yep, you got it, white guy who sweeps in and saves the day with his ideas & his mother. Too cliched to finish? Trying hard to finish.

Really like it, so far.

Wow 4% in and my eyes are already watering, I wouldn't mind but the gas mans here.

And already fighting tears. This book starts out kind of sad.

Good story, excellently written.
