Status Updates From Scat

Connections: One connection I made is that Nick is like Jack from the last Kids On Earth. Both are up to the challenge, and they both care about their friends a lot. Another connection I made was that Mrs.Starch is similar to Derek from the last Kids On Earth. Derek and Mrs. Starch both care about animals and the Earth. Mrs. Starch is helping raise a newborn panther.

SETTING: I can tell one of the settings is Nick's house. I can tell because Nick was practicing baseball with his dad in the back yard. Another setting in the book is Mrs. Starch's house. I can tell because he goes there to try to figure out what happened to Mrs.Starch.

Summary: Mrs. Starches class was on a field trip in the swamps in southern Florida. Mrs.Starches class had to leave because of a wild fire. The police got involved and thought that Duane set it on fire to get back on Mrs.Starch. Mrs. Starch and Duane stopped showing up to school. Nick and Marta went to Mrs. Starches house and they are trying to figure out where Mrs.Starch could have gone.
