This whole last part reads like 80s Pravda. Indistinguishable. I remember grown-up adults who read the NYT every day who took this bullshit seriously - they really believed Agee had just seen the light; the err in his ways. These are the people who worshipped Woodward and Bernstein. These are the kind of people who got us into WW II. They should be gibbeted.

To think every sucker liberal believed this clown back then. This "seeing the light" phase of his is so transparent only a child would fall for it. It is so obviously dishonest, I had to check Agee's "Early Life" to see if he had any Hindu Indian genes. But, natch, Agee didn't really write this. Probably just submitted an outline. You liberals really oughta go hide in the woods out of shame.

Again, I know what's really going on with this book, but this loser shoulda been a professor.

Usually, I read myself to sleep. But this bottom-feeding I've been doing lately has broken me of that habit. Just imagine the stuff that gets rejected by publishers ... wait, publishers' readers are all the daughters of Levantine big shots, so their judgement is worthless. There is nothing lower than Show Business. Nothing. Crime is a virtue by comparison.

I'm not in the teaching business - I leave that to adults who prefer company of children - so I'll keep it to myself, but there are a couple of reasons this book is as boring and disingenuous as it is. We leave it as an exercise for the diligent student.

If I didn't actually know people who write like this, and if it wasn't 50 years old, I'd think it was written by machine, a professor, or a journalist. It's uncanny that a human being with eyes and ears could let this stuff by without saying, "not so fast, let's fix this up first." But then, communists/socialists have always been tone-deaf.

Not making much headway. Painfully bad writing, like reading NYT or The Economist or ... any journalist. It's hard to keep going when half the content is "within the framework of", "with respect to", and "in terms of."

It's getting worse. It sounds exactly like Grok wrote this. It's incredible this went to print. Only professors can get away with writing this poorly - because their customers are FORCED to buy their textbook.

By the way, for you suckers who buy the "whistleblower" Snowden story, this is the same thing. But, suckers gonna suck.

My God this guy is boring. But, you gotta keep in mind, this is not a REAL book, it's a retro-fit, written to cover his real motive and antics. In fact, had there been AI back then, this is what it would have written. Instead they hired some dollar-store left-wing hacks to write it. If you've ever read any commie "tracts" you'll recognize the "style". Would work on CNN, BBC, or CBC too.
