And I’ve stopped at the rape scene.

The writing isn't great. The world building is okay (I think it would have been better to set it in an alternate present, rather than a future that looks weirdly like 2010). Also, the clearly English author writing a book set in a future US is equally jarring.
But the concept is novel, and the book is at least aware of the tropes it uses.
And really, I'm just happy to see "born sexy yesterday" but gay.

Pearl Ruled. Too much to overlook already. Example: Suddenly the problematically begun with rape (in the old Rape of the Lock sense) relationship, already squicky, proceeds with the human suddenly, inexplicably, impossibly knowing the robot's "name."

The grammatical errors are starting to get to me. I wish this work had gone through more editing.

A bit of an intentional omniscient feel, but the head hopping drives me nut.

I'm smiling at the statement that robots with AI are limited in their abilities by international law. They're handsome, but dumb. Pretty construction workers or soldiers, but no digital Einsteins. LOL. Guess something went wrong with that in the Terminator movies ;-)
