Still not liking this. Over done. Characters act like they are still in high school. What the heck is Sturm and Drang? Looked it up. It's a term from 1770 Germany.

Maybe I should bail because I'm now annoyed by Ruth ummm, I mean Cora. And Sagadahoc is the smallest county in Maine. Nit pic. Why even mention a county?

I don't know if it is a coincidence or I'm just imagining it but Lord's choice of setting and the name of his town is reminisce of Louise Penny and her Three Pines mysteries. The overblown descriptions further lent to the comparison in my mind. I've enjoyed the early Penny novels but the choppy sentences each filled with hidden meaning bugged me after a bit.
