This is a fun introduction to this series. I hope that they don’t become romantically involved, though. It would be nice keeping the mc’s as friends.

I still like the characters but I’m at the point where I’ve solved this second case in my head the moment she talked to the killer. I’ve pieced it together and I have no experience, so the fact this cop who was a cop for 8 years hasn’t put it together is a little frustrating. She should have figured it out already then spent this time proving it.

I chose this book because it seems to have a police procedure and a supernatural elements. I hope that they build a friendship and then a relationship, but we will see. So far 33 pages in, I really like both characters. He is stand offish and reserved, as he should be and she is slow to trust but wants justice for the children. I was worried she would be feeling sorry for herself but she isn’t. I like that.

Amazing opening. Hooked me right away! Haven’t read anything that captures me and makes me care so quickly in a Long time.
