It didn't start so awful... it was a steady trickle of awfulness as reading progressed. I so want to DNF it right now but, damn, I am 77% in and after reading all that I'm going to finish and add this book to my book count. I've never seen anything unravel so magnificently and steadily as this one. For anyone considering the read... don't. Seduced by the word soldier in title, but no soldiering inside.

I am not sure about this one O.o

This seems like the kind of story I would normally love. It's got political intrigue and soldiers and king and bonds. But the storytelling is surprisingly unsophisticated and simplistic.
