Don’t expect regular progress reports, or for this to leave my “currently reading” list anytime soon. My plan is to read a short story or essay here and there between my summer books.

I’ve never read an introduction of which too much discussion would risk spoiling another’s pleasure in reading it. But also this is Gene Wolfe.

read the Castle of the Otter portion. neat stuff! not the most important but neat to read

finished the Book of Days half. really great short story collection! day themed stories make it cohesive and the ideas themselves are pretty solid. lincoln’s birthday, christmas eve, labor day, earth day, and valentine’s day were all very good, christmas eve especially. y’all have no reason to care about the second half, that one’s just for me
