Status Updates From تاراس بولبا

I was supposed to read this back in freshman year russian romanticism class but never got around to it. I loved Gogol's short stories (if you like Kafka you'll love them too) but this is an entirely different beast. Reminds a bit of Puškin's Poltava or The Captain's Daughter. I'm not super into these kinds of stories but I guess it's worth the read just to get a better idea of the author's body of work.
