I honestly think that this is one of the best fantasy series out there. I wish more people knew about it. The writing, the characters, the world-building — everything is so meticulously and wonderfully crafted. And a real page-turner too!

nice to get back into this world, tho i will say that the only thing more annoying than this "it was all a training exercise" twist opening would be an "it was all a dream" sequence.

I totally guessed the action was all fake w/n the first page, which kinda undercut any tension I was supposed to be feeling.
