Status Updates From The Last Machine in the Sol...

This is...good. That's all. It feels either too long or two short -- the former because it could have accomplished the same goal in a simple short story, the latter because it could have been a truly stunning novel but feels thin & half-baked as a novella. As it is, this is a disappointing waste of tremendous potential. Maybe the author will expand or reduce it some day? Either fermenting or concentrating it?

A quarter of the way through, I find the few pieces of illustration to be actively detracting from the work. Great premise and a good read so far, though. The story could be taken a number of places that would all be very satisfying.
