Ah yes, Russian mad scientists. Very un-wholesome. But at least something we don't have in the real world.
...Probably.

I don't know... I get what you're trying to do, but when you take a very real and specific event to be a part of it, you cross the line from wholesome to outright wish fulfillment. I put the book away, I think back to said event, I can't deny it didn't go as well as here, and I end up feeling only worse. And so the book's done the opposite it sought to do.
Still a palate cleanser after A God Somewhere.

Notes:
(1) There's a few good twists here, though ultimately not enough to elevate this from being just a solid story.
- I would have liked some evolution of Huck's character. He's exactly the same throughout.
(2) The ending scene's a bit too on-the-nose for any satisfying irony or poetic justice.
- It possibly could have worked if it wasn't hammered home as much as it was.

Notes:
(1) This series goes by really fast. There's very little dialogue, and lot of action shots of Huck just running/leaping from place to place.
(2) A lot of points go to the art. There isn't much to the actual story: people ask Huck to do things, and then he does them.
(3) This isn't as wholesome as I originally thought.
- You get quite adult themes and casual swearing.

Notes:
(1) Still on my spree-read of Mark Millar books. Though, I may move onto something else after this.
(2) Millar, for the most part, has a reputation for pushing the envelope in terms of violence and bad taste. This, however, seems completely wholesome.
- Additionally, Albuquerque is best known for really brushy, fairly realistic art, whereas this looks petty cartoony.
