I have mixed opinions on this so far. I'm two (long) chapters into book 1 and I already have a lot to comment on. There's stuff I enjoy and stuff that frustrates me.

This book kinda has me all over the place emotionally. The side characters are easy to become attached to because the main characters lose so much and it’s just such good storytelling. I’m not sure I’m strong enough to bear this.
It’s also 3:53 in the morning where I am, so that may be a contributor to my emotionally instability at the moment.

I'm loving this so far. The story is focused through a range of protagonists, including 3 women, and it's very well done.
Slightly disappointed, as I thought I was buying a complete series, but it isn't. There's at least one more book after this, and at over £8.00 that will take the total to £22 for 4 books. It is worth it, just, but I expect Kindle books to take account of the lack of printing and distribution cos
