The only character I actually like is Harper. Hank’s ex-wife and current girlfriend are both apparently demanding and domineering, whereas he’s enchanted with Mari from their first meeting because she’s Not Like Other Women. Meanwhile, Mari comes across as judgemental, calling all sports silly and pointless and looking down on Hank’s career. It’s possible to dislike sports without judging people who do.
